Loft conversion to barn

Planning permission was granted in 2021, and detailed construction drawings for this loft conversion to barn.

Our recent project involved fulfilling the client’s vision of transforming the loft space within their existing barn conversion into a spacious and luxurious bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. To achieve this, we designed a wide dormer window that adds both functionality and aesthetic appeal to the property whilst reducing aesthetic harm to the existing traditional barn. Due to be completed in 2024.

Key Features:

  • Wide Dormer Window: The centerpiece of the loft conversion is a wide dormer window with brise soleil panels over the full height windows, strategically positioned to maximise natural light.
  • Zinc Clad Structure: The dormer window is clad in zinc, creating a sleek and modern exterior that seamlessly integrates with the existing roofline. Its placement at the rear of the house ensures privacy and blends harmoniously with the garden setting.
  • Spacious Interior: Inside, the loft space has been transformed into one large bedroom with a luxury en-suite bathroom, offering comfort and sophistication to the homeowners to this loft conversion to barn.

Brise Soleil: To mitigate heat gain and enhance energy efficiency, brise soleil louvers have been installed, providing shading while maintaining a stylish aesthetic.
